Yes, given all the empty space up there it should absolutely have been built 5-7 miles closer. But 37 minutes downtown feels competitive with most other major cities?
And the airport itself is nice, at least imo.

PHX is solid for a larger city airport... homer pick, but I believe it.
OKC is very nice
Austin is solid
Cincinnati/Covington is great. One of my favorites... rental car on site, feels pretty modern.
Columbus/John Glenn was great until they moved rental cars offsite (small airports should be onsite)

Denver... sheer location alone
IAH and Hobby... Houston says it all
San Antonio... what a dump... wow.
