...on any meaningful level.
But think back to the 1980s. People still threw garbage out their windows in the car. Dumped motor-oil down the drain, etc.
All of those attitudes have changed. The environment is physically cleaner than it was 40 years ago.
I mean, you personally, probably have made food decisions (subconsciously or not) that are better for your environment and ecology.
We're not individually defeating big industry but small decisions matter at a more local level. They're not insignificant.

and I wasn't saying that you can't care about the environment and drive a gas guzzling car. My personal conclusion, honestly, is that there is nothing that I can personally do that is going to move the needle on the environment when there are massive corporations that will continue to pollute. It's that that I no longer care about the environment, I very much still do, it's just that I've given up hope that there's anything that can be done that is going to make a meaningful difference, and relieving myself of that burden helps me sleep a little better at night.

...and still drive an internal combustion vehicle. There's tons of things you can do to contribute to the overall health of your environment.
Throwing your hands up and saying "no one cares" strikes me as lazy and defeatist.

but pretty much anyone Gen X and beyond doesn't really care about the environment, especially if it means being asked to make any sort of sacrifice. All people really care about is the economy. Everything else is secondary. People will switch to electric cars when it makes economic sense to do so.

right now?
You can finally switch the entire transition thesis from climate change (not popular) to affordability and not having to rely on a strait controlled by an enemy 6,000 miles away (I would assume pretty popular).
Such an easy sell right now. Especially when combined with the data center shit.
