"This is a great food town." They might even give you an unsolicited request or two, and more if you ask.
When you go to New Orleans, they do that too, but they're very overzealous about it.
"We have the BEST food! We have XXXX and XXXX and oh you have to try XXXX! [Random folks-y southern saying about their food goes here]. It's just the absolute best. You also have to go XXXX. And you can't miss XXXX."
I get you're proud but dial it back.
