Definitely tended towards self-indulgent woe is me attitude, but at least it actually attempted to express recognizable human emotion, with decent music. In stark contrast to the large majority of late 80’s stuff.  Previous Message Just never understood it. Didn't understand the angst and what i considered "whining".
