I think that at every Democratic primary debate

every candidate will be asked if they plan to investigate the corruption of the Trump administration, and taking a soft stance on the topic will likely be disqualifying. Bear in mind, whether or not anything comes of it after the fact remains to be seen.

At best, he'll croak soon after (or during) his failed coup attempt in early 2029. There will be a few more Manaforts, but I think that's as high as the consequences go. I'm pretty pessimistic on the idea of even Hegseth paying any significant price.
