Respectfully, that's a conservative talking point that is completely false. Archived Message

Never in my life have I ever heard or seen any liberal who thinks that the government should solve all problems. But, government can and should play a role in social and fiscal problems and so liberals are more comfortable with looking to government solutions. Again, I think this is a symptom of modern conservative's binary worldview. Government is inefficient, therefore government is bad, therefore anybody who looks for the government to solve problems is wrong and bad, therefore liberals are bad because they want government to solve "everything." Nuance and grey is where the world lives. To your other point, seems to me the problem is how the money is spent and used. Which goes to one of my core beliefs...money absolutely does not solve problems, nor is it a measure of success. Money is a tool, nothing more. When used inefficiently, it becomes worthless and even harmful. When not used, it breeds contempt, entitlement, and unhappiness.
