He’s holding the ball for a crazy amount of time and is literally one of the worst QB’s in all of college football when throwing under pressure. He was elite at that last year so it could be an anomaly, but it seems that many have already dropped him from the generational prospect tier that he was considered to be coming into this season.
To me it’s all about the processing ability since we’ve been burned by that with both Trubisky and Fields. The traits don’t matter if you can’t read defenses and go through your progressions quickly. And Williams has been in the best offensive scheme possible with elite skill talent and rarely playing good defenses.
I still think he’s a guy you take at #1 and are really excited about, and he’ll be a better player than Fields. But there’s more reason for concern that I expected there to be and the Drake Maye talk is starting to build.
