They’ve been offering full rides to kids with good PSAT scores for 20 years. Archived Message

Same with Oklahoma. Previous Message ….for the first time in the university’s history. There’s a kid in my SW Ohio community who got a massive financial aid package because they want to expand their reach and profile. The story pitched it as a byproduct of Saban. Same thing happened at Gonzaga, if memory serves. Previous Message from schools who are looking to move up in the rankings by offering tons of money to competitive students. number one son got unsolicited 50% rides to oregon and case western. he has a solid profile but nothing overwhelming. Previous Message Mine get ASU or U of A. Both are decent but not spectacular schools. We're out of the private school game because we make too much money for need-based aid and nowhere near enough to afford the sticker price on our own. Out-of-state tuition at other public schools is a joke when you look at cost-benefit for an undergrad degree. So my kids are almost certainly ASU/U of A unless they get merit-based scholarships. And so naturally, my 16 y.o. daughter currently likes Oregon, UC Santa Barbara and Vanderbilt.
