That's where I'm at. Plus I don't want to pay someone every time something isn't working Archived Message

I'm not sure that the first time or two I fix something it's even cheaper, but I'm learning and it will be next time. I also sit on a computer all day so doing something with my hands has a certain amount of appeal The ceiling fan in my office needs to be replaced. 18 months ago I wouldn't have thought about trying it myself, but easy enough to flip the breaker and give it a shot. Pretty sure it will be not that bad and I can complete it but if not I can call after I have tried myself. Previous Message ...I want to know how all of it works. So, part of the "doing things around the house" is the satisfaction of a job well done...the other part is that I want to know how everything works from the heater to the toilet and everything in-between. Previous Message And I didn't know our brand has a specific gasket that doesn't work with the universal. It took longer than expected including 3 trips to Lowes and eventually an Amazon order but I'm glad I did it and could now relatively quickly do it again. Previous Message ...essentially all the guts. It wasn't hard...but it was more involved than I had first expected. I had to pull the tank, replace the supply line, cut the overflow pipe to fit...etc etc. Took a few hours. Previous Message $500+ ice maker will make some ice then a few hours later it's all melted and not making more. I unplug it for a few hours and then it's lather rinse repeat. Just cleaned/descaled last month. Not happy right now and of course it's 2 months out of warranty.
