Do they have 13U, or is it every 2 years? if so, I feel like having the younger kid play up one and the older kid play down 1 might have been a better choice. There can be a huge physical difference between 12U and 14U. Previous Message 14U level, on probably an A or AA team. He has a brother at the lower level, and there's some kind of family health issue, so they let the older brother play down so that the brothers can be on the same team. It's ridiculous and the coaches totally take advantage. He's naturally the top scoring player in the league by about double the points. He plays extra shifts, takes every face-off, gets most possessions, and when they blow other teams out, it's because he scored 7 or 8 of the team's 8 or 9 goals. There have supposedly been a lot of complaints because it's not fun for anyone. Today is the start of the end of season tournament, and 2D's team played this team as their first game. His team has been blown out by this kid twice, and they went in angry. 2D was also sick of getting lit up on breakaways. Our team played their asses off to shut this kid down, and 2D stood on his head to take away all but one goal that snuck over his shoulder glove side. He came way out for every breakaway and was a poke check machine. The kid got so frustrated that he and his brother started cross checking our players into the boards after the whistle, and the younger brother threw a punch. Both kids got ejected. Game ended in a tie because our offense sucks, but I'll take it. 2D showed the intestinal fortitude today that I've been hoping he would find and I love it.
