In terms of fWAR here are their ranks solely among Cubs position players. Randy Hundley 58th Glenn Beckert 70th Jim Hickman 77th Don Kessinger 93rd That's just Cubs position players let alone MLB. These were mediocre players for the most part and sticking with them is why those Cubs teams were pretty poor for much of that time period despite having elite players like Williams, Santo, and Jenkins. They each had 1-2 decent seasons but for the majority of their careers were mediocre. If that is the bar for "Hall of Very Good" then the bar includes nearly anyone that played major league baseball for a significant period of time. To me the bar for "Hall of Very Good" would be players like Mark Grace, Jon Lester, Ben Zobrist, and Anthony Rizzo. All significantly better players than the players you mentioned but none near HOF status.
