    I liked him too. felt like he was doing a good job, especially in recruiting, and didn't understand the move at the time. but he became an analyst at purdue instead of getting another assistant job, and it's not like our linebackers were a stellar group or anything. we replaced him with another qualified P5 coach. I don't really see the continued criticism here now that it's all played out.

    I agree it would have been nice to get a little more local recruiting connection, but I think that gets built quickly as long as it's prioritized by the HC to spend time there (which we know it will be). so i'm not *that* worried about that piece.
