...in the city...a lot of the tech-bros have weeded out. They went to Marin, Dublin, Burlingame. Pre-kids, you'll still find a lot more tech folks. People in their 40s and above with kids, it kinda weeds out. Of the families we're social with on the block, maybe a third of them are tech related in employment. First responders, merchants, bar-tenders / owners and service, union labor, etc...with Tech also mixed it. But it doesn't dominate anymore. Previous Message Previous Message Loved biking that area back in ‘92 Previous Message Previous Message ….the sense that none of the manned checkout lanes are not staffed. Hearing of long lines and frustrated customers. I know the last time I went only one manned lane was open and the two entrances to the self-checkout sections had lines 5+ deep. I needed these car ramps to change my oil today so I went in line. Doesn’t WMT know that manning checkout lines rather than use the bodies for stocking is good for business. Otherwise, people just give up waiting in line and just leave their baskets? Same for the local Kroger where they have very few manned checkout lanes open. Eff this; I’ll just go to Publix where the clerks are at the start of the lane standing around practically begging for a customer to check out. Besides, my local Publix has a kick ass deli and bakery
