People who are seriously considering suicide know that friends and family may be attuned to the signs, so they'll do their best to act "normal" so as to prevent anyone from interfering. If they've got a plan in place, they might not even have to act; the knowledge that all of your problems will soon come to an end can lift your mood considerably. Also, from Boeing's side, it doesn't make a lot of sense to kill a guy in this way and draw all this attention.
