https://shanerspizza.com/ The area near shaners has plenty of bars and shops. kinds more local and Florida-y For paddling: go to Ted sperling park on Lido. https://maps.app.goo.gl/pjrLfDeg96sWmzKu8?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy for fru fru shopping go to st. Armonds circle. The aquarium near there is good too. Or go downtown Sarasota for tourist and fancy stores and grub. There is also a good farmers market. For pastries go to http://www.rendezvoussarasota.com/ For seafood, Walt’s on tamiami or Dry Doc on long boat key. tamiami is a ridiculous strode. Tons of lanes, some people drive 50+ some drive slow. It makes for a fun time turning left. if your Vrbo is north of downtown, walk or run the big bridge to St Armonds key. Also the houses by the water there are nice, but two blocks inland, it’s rundown (the farther north to the airport, the dicier it gets. Selby gardens is worth it. I never did the ringling estate but it’s free on mondays (I think check first). So it’s probably a good idea. There is a circus act show near the art museum (which is the old high school where Paul Rueben went). Previous Message Week after next. GC Jr (college freshman) is coming too. Have a great VRBO house right by the beach but don’t have much planned for activities so any suggestions would be great. Also good places to eat? Mrs and Jr and pretty simple eaters so we generally look for pizza or good bar food. Thanks.
