So here's what she can do.
Go to the counter. Ask for the price on both flights (the 4:30 from LGA and the 6:00 from EWR). But also on the connecting flights (through Atlanta,
Detroit, Fort Lauderdale, Miami).
There's one as early as 9:55
It will cost less than the online rate, which is currently between $269 and $411
