 Previous MessageAround 11. Kids and wife are upstairs. I'm watching TV. Hear someone on the front porch and see lights and hear shouting. Confused, but I think it must be some of my son's friends doing something dumb. Out of character for them, but whatever. Come around the corner to see the front door. Through the glass in the front door, I see a guy I don't know with his hands up, a number of cops, some with guns drawn, ordering him away from the door. Dude turns around and yells to me "Help! They aren't the police! Let me in!" Wife and kiddos (all) call 911, who confirms that the police are responding to something in my neighborhood. Another minute or so, police have the guy cuffed and drag him to a cruiser. Looks like he was a guy who got brought into the ER that's about 1/3 a mile away for some psych issues and ran out when the police were called there. Tried to get into the neighbor's back door per the Nest video she's got. Cops were in pursuit. Chased him around her house and he ran to my porch. Not much sleep in our house last night. Even the doggo was worked up. Too many weird people in her yard. Importance of locking the door after we get back from walking the doggo has been reinforced in a pretty unebelievable way. |
