Gretzky has 1,200+ more assists than Ovechkin, though he did play in an era of crazy scoring and on a super team for much of it.  Previous Message I was always under the impression that Gretzky was far and away the goat. I remember there being some wild stat about how far ahead he was in total points over the 2nd on the list or something along those lines. Does this record put Ovechkin in the conversation or is still Gretzky by a mile? Previous Message
