The rest of the jail doesn’t realize 10 dudes are gone until 8:30 am roll call… BUT they don’t sound the alarm to other agencies and the public because they claim they needed to “investigate” and “verify” that they’re still not on premises. They immediately saw that there was a hole in the wall where a toilet was removed and they’re not there! The DA comes on live and tells us HE wasn’t alerted until our news station sends a push alert at about 11 am when he finds out and immediately calls US Marshalls to get them on the case! Also, the inmates had to have been given tools to cut through rebar and remove the sewer pipe from the stool. Sheriff’s office says 3 people on leave while they investigate. This involved WAAAAY more than 3 on the inside. They also had help once they were out to flee the scene as they ran across I-10 to a neighborhood into waiting cars it’s intimated. Finally, the Sheriff claims this is a political conspiracy of her opponents to make her look bad! You’ve got to be kidding me! This is bonkers. They did capture one escapes this morning in the French Quarter, so now there are 9 felons who’ve committed violent crimes roaming New Orleans, or have fled town complexity. Absolutely insane
