And Document is good too. Much of the rest of their work is great also after they changed labels, just different... Automatic for the People, New Adventures, etc. Only 2 albums I wouldn't regularly go back to are Monster and Around the Sun. Currently reading a recent biography of them. Michael Stipe used to live down the street from my old junior high and swim at the local pool, though he left for Georgia right as I moved in. The Eponymous "They airbrushed my face" photo is from my HS' 1978 yearbook.  Previous Message ...but just listened to eponymous and Best of R.E.M. 1988-2003 , and damn I really appreciated it much more than when then back in the day.
