several of the people I follow really gave, WhiteSox, Cubs, and Cardinals high marks for draft📂 Archived Message

the one guy the Cubs guy, Myles Bailey, would of probably been a late 1st/comp pick if not for an injury that kept him from playing most of the season. some say he has the best pure power in this whole draft. Only issue is he's probably stuck as a 1B/DH at 6'4 260lbs and he does have some swing and miss in his game
His scouting report: Bailey was a Top 150 prospect coming out of the Florida high school ranks in 2024, and while he did go on to Florida State, his power potential was enough for the White Sox to take a flier on in the 20th round of that summer's Draft. A year of crushing baseballs in the ACC -- he finished second in the conference with 19 homers and was a first-team freshman All-American -- certainly provided more confidence that his juice is for real. He was taking another huge step forward in getting to his power by slugging .913 over his first 26 games, but a severe ankle injury ended his season. A strong left-handed hitter, Bailey is on a short list of hitters with the most raw power in this class, right up there with fellow Florida collegian Daniel Cuvet at Miami. Bailey can drive the ball to all fields and reaches the seats even when he mis-hits balls. The one question around him that's traveled to Tallahassee is whether he'll hit enough to get to that power consistently at the next level. While his ability to draw walks helps offset it, a 31 percent strikeout rate with a bit of a grooved swing as a freshman will have to be improved to give teams more confidence. Bailey is a better athlete than he's given credit for, and he's played third and in corner outfield spots before college. That said, he's likely destined for first, where he's fine defensively. Some improvements in his approach to cut down on the swing-and-miss were helping him become one of the more interesting Draft-eligible sophomores in the class, though teams will have to make decisions without seeing him again in 2026.

It seems like Cholowsky is the guy although it seems not definitive but all the plugged in guys seem to think Cholowsky is the pick.
I think it's the right move as I think Roch could be in the bigs by 2028 maybe even mid 2027 and I think his floor is pretty high with all star level upside.
As for the Cubs I'd like them to go college bat because that is the only thing they've really been successful at. College bats have all been pretty much hits (Bryant, Schwarber, Happ, Hoerner, Shaw, Smith). Horton is the only non-college bat they've really had any success though Wicks at least made the bigs and Little and Lange have stuck out some big league miles in pens elsewhere.
So to me the names are probably Zion Rose, Logan Hughes, and Aiden Robbins. If they decide to go pitching maybe Mason Edwards or Cam Flukey if they are there but I'd much prefer a bat!
