Question for Star War nerds

I’m not a nerd. I know all the main characters and I know the episode with Jar Jar is universally considered the best - so, I guess I’m kind of an expert - but not a nerd for details.

Why does Chewy wear a bandolier/ammo belt?

I never see any fighters - good or bad - reload their little laser guns. I assume they just recharge them at night.

Does he have a gun that requires ammo, but never uses it? Is he carrying snacks?

It's a utility belt. Grapnels for castle walls. Caltrops for pursuers. Smoke bombs for car chases.

He has a bowcaster which needs batteries and explosive charges, but it can carry other stuff like tools, credits, lip balm, etc

Can I pull out all the stops, and get out of this town?

When he was but a young furball, it required reloading, necessitating the bandolier. When he upgraded his bowcaster to use lasers instead, he kept the bandolier for three reasons:

1) Rule of Cool
2) snacks (good guess!)
4) So he wouldn't go into battle completely nude. Like a dog with a harness.
