Once a month.

It’s more traffic-ey than usual and I see a house on the corner with yellow tape and about a half dozen cops out front…but I recognize the house. I’ve been in the house for birthday parties. One of the kids that lives there is in 4th grade with my daughter.

So I call my cop friend and they tell me, murder / suicide including the two daughters.

Anyone here ever dealt with this before? What do you tell elementary school aged kids about this?

...so my friend in homicide called me and filled me in on what they know so far.

- The husbands brother stopped by after not being able to get ahold of him all weekend.
- Wife met him at the door and said that he was just late returning from a golf trip in Monterey. Claimed she had a migraine and would follow up with him later.
- Police believe that everyone except for her was already dead at this time.
- Still couldn't contact him throughout the rest of the day and night so called in a welfare check around noon the next day.
- Police and fire went in and found the father and both daughters dead in bed with the sheets pulled up to their chins like they were probably staged.
- Wife hung herself in the garage.
