Just like Rogue One, this is the look/feel I was hoping for in the prequels...and why I don't think I ever liked them.

Instead I got a Lucas drunk on bloated budgets and CGI.

Also pretty much laid the groundwork that Pennywise, as a celestial being, experiences existence, seeing past, present, and future as simultaneous, which allows it to know its eventual defeat in 2016 and try to alter events in earlier feeding cycles.
