Ready for another game? Man, you should be. Here we go on senior night.

Oregon is bad. 4-14 in the Big Ten bad. 1 for 12 in Q1 games bad. 1 in 5 in Q2 games bad. It's not really worth talking about, EXCEPT that they basically have been playing well lately, rattling off wins @ USC, home against Wisconsin, and almost pulling off a road win this weekend @ Northwestern. Of course they're starting to play well right up to playing us. Shut down Bittle, Evans, and Simpkins...and that should be it.

That being said, we should win. Right? I mean...right?
Senior night, so here's to giving Bos and Ben a good send off from Assembly Hall.

Time to reverse the luck of February.

If we’re the last two seed, I think our most likely combination is 2 seed in the West with Arizona.

Basically, they take the one seeds and put them in the most proximate geographic region based on what remains.

1 Duke - East
2 Michigan - Midwest
3 Arizona - West
4 UConn - South

They then take the 2 seeds and do the same thing, but knowing they might have to adjust to avoid teams in the same conference pairing. Here that would be:

5 Florida - South
6 Houston - Midwest
7 Michigan State - East
8 Illinois - West

Good love for all the seniors pre-game. Krush was good all game.

The collectible card thing was crazy. We got to our seats like 25 minutes before tip-off and we had 4 different people come up to us offering $100 per card. Another person told us Assembly Hall staff was actively watching and kicking people out who were buying/selling, so I didn’t engage the people. Saw two people get kicked out by security during the 2nd half.

More offers on the way out of the Hall, but decided to maybe give it a go on E-Bay.

Wondering if Illinois will try this again…it was kinda a weird vibe and felt like security and cops were watching everybody. Not sure that’s the vibe you want for big games or Senior night.

Seats were within spitting distance of the broadcast crew. Hadn't sat that close since I was in grad school 25 years ago and had seats 2nd row on the floor. At least then I don't recall getting a kink in my neck from staring up at an HD video board for stats & replays.

As for the tickets, we were fortunate to have a parking pass for the SE lot, so we came in the East entrance, which I never had before. Right through the gate was a table where we exchanged our ticket for the cards. Only had to wait in line for 2 people. My neighbor saw us (his construction company did much of the State Farm Center remodel) and opened the door from the club area and we walked right in. (Weren't supposed to be there.)

As we walked around to get to our seats there was a line that wrapped around from basically the club area past the west entrance, basically filling the lower hallway of people waiting in line to get their cards. This was ~25 minutes before tip-off. No idea how long someone at the end would have to wait.

When we left the State Farm Center ~15 minutes after the game ended, we saw one guy offering us $80 per ticket, one guy getting shuffled away by security, and another guy offering $100. We didn't sell because my daughter's boyfriend and roommate (who also went to the Oregon game) sold the cards they got at the Michigan game for $200 each online to someone and this person said they'd buy more. We'll see.

Which is what would have happened in the RG/MT eras.

Distinction without a difference? Maybe. But we also have no idea what the incentives or precise terms were for the promotion.

And having attended the game last night, other than the line to redeem the vouchers, it didn't have any noticeable impact on the atmosphere whatsoever. And by all accounts the same was true for Michigan.

Other than some skeevy dudes asking me if I had cards to sell, there was no actual noticeable impact on the game day experience, good or bad. We didn't sell a bunch of extra tickets because of it, didn't have any impact on the crowd.

Total nothing burger, IMO. But people gotta complain about something.

and i'm glad your experience was good. but there have been other accounts of empty seats before and during the games and overall a portion not exactly locked into the games

i guess my point is we can't all sit here and bemoan the krush not giving it their all as we need every edge we can get, and then just shrug at intentionally putting people in the building that have no interest in the actual game

If we beat Maryland, I would be VERY surprised if we fall behind any of the teams just below (Alabama, Texas Tech, Virginia, Kansas, Gonzaga), even if they win their conference tournaments.

The big question to me is whether the Committee will treat an Illinois/Purdue quarterfinal game as a playoff for the last two seed. It shouldn't be; we have a better resume across the board and won @ Purdue. But I do think that's not out of the realm of possibility.

Hopefully they continue to not care about the BTT. I hate it.

Observation, not based on numbers in any way warning: Midway through the year it seemed like teams started to crowd the perimeter on us knowing that we only have 2 guys that can put it on the deck and finish effectively. Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems like we play even slower now than we were at the beginning of the year.

Also, I’m with you, this seems like a silly thing to complain about given the efficiency of the offense. But the pace does put a ceiling on things against the top teams that don’t give exploitable matchups every possession.
