Akron is 29 spots ahead of Miami on KenPom and 11 spots ahead in the NET (before tonight for the NET ranking).

So if you’re going to give Miami (OH) an 11 seed, what do you do with Akron?

Like I said, it’s highly likely we were behind them. But it was close going into today and ultimately none of us know exactly how the committee has these teams ranked.

It's one of the issues I have with it when it's used for seeding purposes. I realize it's a game they theoretically can lose, but Arizona State stinks and Iowa State only played them because they didn't finish high enough in the Big 12 to earn a bye that round.

Not a huge one but I do think there is a sizable drop off from the 6 seeds to the 7 seeds

They deserve to be in the tourney having won 31 straight, IMO. But losing this puts them in the First Four, I think. The MAC I don't think has had an at-large bid since 1999.

Conference Matchup Rules

The first four teams from any conference placed on the top four seed lines must be assigned to different regions (unless five or more teams appear on those seed lines).
Teams from the same conference:
Cannot meet before the regional final if they played three or more times during the regular season and conference tournament.
Cannot meet before the regional semifinal if they played twice.
May meet as early as the second round if they played once or not at all.
These restrictions may be relaxed if a conference has nine or more teams in the tournament.
Any principle may be relaxed if two or more of the conference’s teams are among the last four at-large teams in the First Four.
Top-seeded teams (first four lines) will not be placed where they would face a significant home-crowd disadvantage.

2 seed in STL opposite Miami/Texas, with 3 seed Alabama and Arizona.

About as good as we could hope for, IMO. He's got BYU as the 6 which would scare me a bit because Dybantsa would have 50 against us, but other than that I'd take that bracket in a heartbeat.
