And generally the NBA doesn’t interest me in the last 10-15 years….the game has gotten unwatchable.

When I did watch, I hated the Knicks. And I loved seeing them lose and their fans go through heartbreak.

But from a distance, I’m glad for them this year. They’ll always have this year to remember.

After they clinch it, it can be another 50+ years before they win another championship

At the end of the day (not being a fan of either team) that's what you want.

The reviews suck for the sake of game pace and watching experience but they got those right.

The times that Wemby went to the line were legit, it's just gonna happen with a player of that size. Usually it's balanced out by the big man not making all his free throws.

24-8 FT discrepancy in the 2nd half isn’t just letting the players decide it.

The Knicks fouled quite a bit, but so did the Spurs. That kind of discrepancy in a physical game is absurd.

And I think the fact he’s making time for this on a weekday when he couldn’t attend his own son’s wedding — who he’s “known for a long time” — is equal parts hysterical, dystopian and profoundly sad.

But to the extent Trump could possibly be a sports fan, he is a Knicks fan. If he never entered politics he still attends this game. And if Cleveland had won the last round, he likely doesn’t.

The entire history of the NBA would suggest that it’s never going to be as easy as it would be if they already won it all this year. Not saying the series is over, I won’t shocked if they win the first one at MSG.

But the natural order of things would have them take their lumps in this one and then break through next season or the year after. And that will probably happen once Harper is ready to be the 1B next to Wemby, which he arguably might be now but they don’t seem ready to give him the reins.

as if pro basketball (well, at least the NBA version) has become as physical as the NHL or NFL. Ok, maybe that's overstating it... a little... but good lord! While they do call falls, it seems to me that the only fouls they call are if you (1) directly punch someone in the face, or you (2) lightly blow on someone's ear. That's it. It's literally a fight or a no-contact "wtf was that call??" situation. You can grab, hold, push, wrap your arms around, run into like running back, and otherwise knock the living shit out someone... and it's perfectly fine.

After watching some of the Spurs/Thunder series and now some of the Spurs/Knicks game last night... I've rediscovered why I have nearly zero interest (other than looking up how former Illini players are faring) in what happens in the NBA.

Give me the college game. Maybe the overall skill level is lower, but christ on a cracker... at least it's not like watching MMAsketball.
