Although I haven’t read the entire list of the 3000 people who died.

I’ve been busy

No, but a good friend took that Boston to LA flight every other week

An uncle of mine was supposed to be on the 100+th floor of one of the towers on 9/12

I have a couple of friends who grew up in north jersey around that time... i don't think either knew anyone in the towers, but there were people in their school who were affected

She worked in the financial district, evacuated after the 1st tower hit. A big group of people started walking north in Manhattan. At that point, nobody truly knew what was happening. She said they turned and watched the 2nd tower fall from somewhere around Chinatown.

She lived in Queens at the time and there was no way to get off Manhattan. She ended up walking up to the upper east side and stayed with a friend that evening because she couldn’t get home.

All of us here lived this in some way... I wish younger Americans could grasp the horror of it rather that it being something that occurred but they can't understand.

But I guess that's Pearl Harbor and JFK for us.

On Tuesday mornings early. His son was born on 9-11-98 and he told his boss the night before he wasn't coming in to do inventory and was quite of shitty about it. His boss came in to do inventory instead of him and died that day. He said if he just no showed that day, he would have still been alive. Still has tons of guilt about it

The guy I worked for has told me stories about a lot the people who died that day. He knew a bunch of them.

50k worked in the Twin Towers. They also estimate 18k escaped. So add 3k killed to 18k escaped, that’s 21k.

The first plane hit around 8:45

So, 29k were essentially late for work that morning? Or do New Yorkers not start working until 10:00 or so?

If it was one hour later, the death toll would have been triple*
