Re: Galloway the CPGB(ML)
Though they've been working together in the greater Birmingham area for the past few months this bizarre alliance doesn't seem to have made much impact on the street. George Galloway came sixth in West Bromwich East at the general election with 489 votes (!.4 per cent). Galloway clearly believed he could gain muchos brownie points by standing against Tom Watson, the icon of the Zionist and anti-Corbyn pole in the Parliamentary Labour Party. But the loathsome Watson stood down on 6th November both as an MP and as Deputy Leader for "personal" reasons. Whatever Watson's reasons few believe they were related to Galloway's challenge. Watson was replaced by Ibrahim Dogus, a London Labour councillor best known for his three restaurants and running the "British Kebab Awards" scheme. Galloway's campaign failed to attract the media interest he so covets and Dogus was one of the many Labour hopefuls who went down with the Tory surge in December 2019. pip, pip, H A R Philby (Col.ret'd)
