I was chatting to a CPB member about a year ago about the CPB social media policy which among other things banned discussion of armed struggle and militias . I asked him why and the reply I got was unexpected . I thought he was going to quote the BRS and go about a need for a peaceful transition to socialism . Instead he replied that it to make sure the party kept within the 'Prevent ' guidelines . If true this is shocking .No Communist Party worth its salt should co operate with PREVENT , it should be exposed and smashed
There have been rumours and anecdotal that PREVENT is being used against Communists and the Left . I have seen some talk about it in Facebook chat groups and there was a story a few years about a CPGBML member being referred to PREVENT .
Surely communists should be taking steps to counter PREVENT . However as usual it seems British communists are too soft for their own good and nothing is being done about it . Communist parties in Britain should instruct their members not to co operate in any way with PREVENT and report it to the Party if they are approached by PREVENT
