Re: Queen Alexandra. Tiara to identify??
I think Mr. Marchetti was simply copying from Luke Fildes's well-known coronation portrait of Queen Alexandra, hence the semblance to known jewels. Whether he took his inspiration for the tiara from another painting or photo we don't know, but I'd assume he simply wanted to add some personal touches to his work, hence the different type of column, the less elaborate curtain, the unknown tiara.
