Dave, are you referring to the pear shaped diamond drop earrings which Mrs Greville bequeathed to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother?

QEQM wearing them. HM wore these frequently, sometimes even for significant day time events.

QEII wearing them for a banquet during the state visit of the President of Turkey in 2011.

As far as I know this is the only occasion on which HM was photographed wearing these earrings.

The pear shaped diamonds are each slightly over 20 carats!

Hi all and seasons greetings, hoping that your Christmas holidays are going well.Thanks Beth for starting this poll and it is going to be difficult to say which is my favourite piece of jewellery for 2018 as I love the Dutch Sapphire tiara and their Stuart one, but my whole sense of things points to the late QEQM's Greville diamond earrings which some feel are the ones the French Queen Marie Antoinette or was it Napoleon's empress Josephine that had previously owned them. I don't know but they are so outstanding and shimmer more than any other piece in HM's vault. Someone I cant remember placed a picture of the present Queen wearing them at a banquet and to me they even looked more outstanding and made the Queen like more regal.
