Re: Countess of Pembroke. Corsage jewel in 1937 Coronation photo
I think that the 3 strands forming the corsage ornament seen in the 1937 Coronation photos are too long to be 3 individual bracelets and yet not sufficiently long to form 6 bracelets.
The Countess appears to have worn the central strand as a shoulder ornament in the photo of her at the Opening of Parliament in 1936
I wondered if these 3 strands formed a jewelled belt?
In October 1922 the Earl and Countess held a ball for the coming out of their daughter, Lady Patricia, and Lady Patricia was said to have worn " a diamond and emerald girdle" Could it have been her mother's "corsage" ornament? Oh for a photo!!
