History of Famous Jewels and Collections: Queen Alexandra’s earrings in 1897?

I'm not sure since the photos are so blurry, but it looks like Queen Alexandra wore some huge earrings to the Devonshire Costume ball in 1897.
Could it be the same...? Alexandra wore them as pendants, but did she also wear them as earrings?

Queen Sonja was often seen and photographed wearing the large diamond earrings from the early years of her marriage on.

I never realised that the earrings can be shortened until I saw a set of images from the pre-wedding gala for Princess Alexia of Greece and Carlos Morales Quintana at Bridgewater House in 1999.

While searching for a large and sharp image of the earrings I noticed that apparently one of the diamonds in the second tier went missing during the state visit to Portugal in 2008. Let's hope it was retrieved!
