Could we find evidence of this from the Cartier archives? And if this is fact, is it that those 27 tiaras may have been gifts to specially invited guests and or relatives?
There is evidence of gifts being given at coronations by the king. It is said that the late QEQM received from her King a diamond necklace at their coronation of large collier diamond stones.
I have heard about King Edward V11 acquiring lots of jewels from Cartier and he was known to have called Cartier the jeweller of Kings. Now that we have another upcoming coronation, one wonders how many Cartier peices will indeed come out of the vaults.
Regards,
Dave.
