The large sapphire brooches are an intriguing point of discussion. Would you like to start a separate thread on them MarcA? I know that Baxter of RJWMB identified one as not being the so called large Russian sapphire, Franck identified another. Perhaps with some photos we could sort them out. I don't have any objections to links to other jewellery blogs, sites and forums, although I know that some blogs will not allow commentators to use links. I see this board as a place for discussion and research, and often it is essential to post a link to the work of others; sometimes it is just convenient to highlight what a poster wants to say. For example. Yesterday I posted a link to the Queen's Jewel Vault site about the Canadian Jubilee sapphire brooch. As I did not discover that the brooch had been worn or the photos, it seemed to me that the ethical thing to do was to use a link to the person who did and who posted about it. Previous Message Just an add on here as well. I think there was some discussion that QM left to QEQM a large sapphire brooch that was of Russian origin. I believe that it was agreed that QEQM must had two brooches as she was seen still seen wearing one large brooch though slightly different after the wedding. However where the mystery still remains is which one is which. Beth am I remembering correctly? Also as an add on here, it may due to a lack of in the collection, neither the Queen or QEQM, seemed to have favoured pieces with a large statement stone. The Queen though did wear the Cullinan brooch (conservatively valued at plus £60 million) to her Sapphire Jubilee service in St Paul's which one commentator described as the ultimate in power dressing. https://artemisiasroyaljewels.blogspot.com/2013/01/cullinan-diamonds-cullinan-iii-and-iv.html Beth can we include links like the one above?
