There was a biography of Mona linked to an exhibition of her life and style some years ago in the USA called (I think) Kentucky Countess...it was said that when she heard her favourite designer Balenciaga was retiring she retired to bed for a week in shock!

Mona had a son by her first marriage who she left as a baby and seems to have had no contact with...after her death he came forward and challenged her will which had left everything to a charitable trust which I believe is still going. In THE JOURNEY by Countess Cecilia Sternberg (Eddie Bismarcks cousin) published in 1977 we see great insights in Mona's world
