    I'm just going to add here I think this is a hideous tiara!

    However I'm absolutely intrigued by the last photo.

    Whilst I'm sure it can't be Lady Astor looks like she is walking through the most unsalubrious neighbourhood. Even though in the background further up the street looks like a line of chauffeured motors.

    When Nancy Astor received the Sancy diamond as a wedding present from her father-in-law it was already set in a tiara.



    But whether it was the tiara which we are familiar with is something I cannot find any information on. Does anyone know?

    I have also read some where that the tiara was created by Cartier. Is that true?
