Princess Margaret. A stunning, unknown jewel Posted by Beth on February 16, 2019, 4:14 am I was stunned to see the jewel worn by Princess Margaret. It is totally unknown to me. What do others think of it? I strongly suspect that it is real.

Strange that it is the only evidence of its existence. Maybe a real diamond brooch the Princess rarely wears and had it transformed into a more modern jewel at one point ? My God, the Greville tiara of the Queen Mother is so sparkling !!!! J-F

A stunning, unknown jewel" The use of a necklace/chain so that the butterfly hangs as a pendant reminds me of how Nellie Melba's corsage was worn originally, even though the photos we have of Melba wearing it show it sitting on the centre of the chest. If the chain had been allowed to sit around Melba's neck, the jewel would have reached to near her waist also. A stunning, unknown jewel" I found a photo which to my eyes shows that the design at the pendant section of the necklace is a swan - so I'll dub it the swan necklace. The photo is from the same occasion as the video Detail The necklace appears to have jewelled sections which may act as sliders to shorten the necklace or perhaps they are just to add interest to the chain section. This is a very unusual, individualistic piece of jewellery, which I suspect would not be easy to wear. I was very surprised to see it was a swan as like J-F I thought I saw a butterfly - but obviously it was the sparkle of the diamonds which created that impression in the video.
