Yes you are correct, the lawsuit names the NCAA. However the injunction and the contents therein specifically address this student athlete’s status as it relates to his eligibility. In order for the case to create a ruling that would benefit or harm other sports wouldn’t the plaintiff need to become class action. I suppose the plaintiff could possibly tailor the arguments to argue all student athletes are harmed but their case is already before the court so I’m not certain they can change direction midstream without harming the arguments already presented. How do you see the benefit to softball should this student athlete be successful in this case? There would need to be an incredible talent languishing in JUCO just as he was to then follow his example I should think for this case to be of any help.
