Well your not alone, the first year we drank the tea and were very disappointed in the product.
The attendance at tryouts was something I have never witnessed before. That made us all feel this was going to be something special. We were on board when we had received the call. We were on board with the "sales pitch" it sounded like a dream.
Then after things started to change. It was the pressure of what was expected of families. It was the volunteer work that was pressured on every parent. It was the scam fundraising lottery tickets that was a turn off. It was the raffles. It was the obvious favoritism to the teams that maybe important peoples kids were on.
This is where eyes started to open. As the season went on the truths came out. Like you pointed out the taking down organizations. How much donated monies went into fields that the organization did not own. How the money is filtered and so on and so on.
We made alot of friend through our experience. Some left some stayed as the first year was enough for us. We were invited back to the team. But also other coaches/trainers were pushing our daughter to a different team and that was very uncomfortable, we decided to part ways.
It seems like this organization has big dreams but greed has been it's biggest down fall. Everything is a sales pitch, and now this National Team that was not supposed to happen is just a sales pitch. The tournaments in the own back yard has been thrown out the window. Great thoughts but definitely a sales pitch!
