PGF has had about 620 teams vetween the two weeks for the oast ten years. They have a long waiting list of teams that want to play but unable because a lack of nearby fields.
Alliance has a different type of format similiar to the WCWS. The format is different than PGF’s traditional double elimination format, consolidating the 3 week WCWS format into one week certainly favors teams with 6-7 pitchers and large rosters.
Competition is good and keeps both organizations from having exclusivity or a monopoly, which is never good for the consumer.
Personally, I liked both formats but Huntington Beach is far more of a desired destination for a family trip.
