Best of the Rest

Besides the rich getting richer (ie: Bandits, Chill, IMG, and IP), who looks to be the best of the rest in the area?
I absolutely admire the job Jim Abbott does year in and year out.
Joe Tholl’s squad?
Wisconsin Lightning?
Velocity?
Who looks to be ready for fall 2025?

Don’t know the coaches personally, but I know that they coached at the Cheetahs for several years and just announced that they were going to the Mojo. One organizational move and they are “jumpers”?
The girls want to go to coaches who can get them done and they are “jumpers”, as well???

It’s actually the coaches second org jump. Malito originally at the Nationals.

Yes there was. That said, my understanding is that Mojo franchise teams are individually run entities. So drawing a link from 2022/2023 grads to 2026/2027 grads, let alone under completely different coaches, is a stretch and not relevant here.

That team who came over from the Ice was a pretty good team. They had pitching, hitting, and speed. The thing they lacked a little of was team defense.

No need to jump ship... Just add NATIONAL to your team name and you and your coaches will perform much better. Plus you can up charge each player another $500 +

Coaches and players that jump organizations are pretty much common practice today.
These girls only have a few years to get out there to be seen…why waste time if an org isn’t doing what they say they would do?
You need to grow up and face a little reality. It’s not being disloyal if an org isn’t doing what they promised.

Who really helps the girls talk with college coaches? What to say? How to say? And when to say? Who are the mentors? Who actually takes the time to break down the step by step process? Who helps guide the girls through different scenarios that one may come across? Those are who I want to know. Cuz I know some literally do nothing and some just hand the colleges to you and say “figure it out.”
I mean if these coaches say they are her to help your DD get recruited, why does it seem like I always hear, well the girl didn’t put the effort in, or she didn’t do this or she didn’t do that??? Maybe she didn’t know, maybe she was afraid to ask or maybe she thought she was doing everything right and wasn’t?
Make it like a class or something for the athletes. They need help and isn’t that what you are there for?

Honestly if someone needs to hold your daughters hand through the process then playing in college may not be the right fit for her. The organizations job is to get your daughter noticed. Get eyes on her and get the process started. They cannot do their homework for them or take tests. They cannot sit there on the phone with them and help answer questions. Its pretty much common sense how to go about interviewing. Maybe, just maybe its up to you as a parent to teach her on how to handle herself.

I knew someone would go here. It’s ppl like you that have to be an “you know” about things. It’s not about having their hand held. It’s about “teaching,” “mentoring,”. OR …… wait for it… “coaching,” that I am talking about. This is more than just playing the sport. Right??? And this is the part I think a lot of coaches miss.

My daughter played for a top national team and was recruited P4. They worked on getting the girls seen and recruited and they did a real good job at doing so. Other than tell them to keep grades up and work hard in school when it came time to talk to the coaches it was all on the player. Us as parents helped our daughter prepare for the phone calls and how to sell her talents and work ethic. To think that an organization is going to handle the recruiting from start to finish is just not realistic. How can you have a class on telling them what to say when you have so many different personalities and strengths and weaknesses from one player to another. There is no playback to follow or course to be taught. This is up to the parents to help their daughter during recruiting to showcase ther personality and strengths. Plus coaches know they are dealing with nervous 16 year old girls who are going through the process for the first time!

There are orgs out there who absolutely prepare their players on speaking to college coaches. There are also orgs who have lots to do with where the player ends up going, and the options they have.
