on the real, you shoulda never lied
The sudden outburst of his fated soulmate, her want for him made him ecstatic. He had never felt such a feeling. He knew lust, hell, he had chased so many women in his years but none made him want to stay longer than a night. The exotic hunter had fallen hard for his butterfly. What a cruel seeming fate, for a tiger to fall for a butterfly. But he could feel she was more than such a dainty creature. She had spunk, despite looking so petite and kind. Something he admired.
His emerald gaze stayed to her as he explained himself, he knew she was traumatized, and given her original homage, he couldn’t blame her. He didn’t want to pressure her, or push her away. So hearing her want him made him surprised but eager. She seemed stunned by his words at first, wanting to respect her. He spoke more, asking if she wanted to officialize their tie by all means. His lips curled slightly as she nodded, hoping she wasn’t getting upset with him for wanting to wait. ”Y-yes. I w-would like that.” A grin curled on his lips as she stood up to face him. ”I want us to be a thing.” He gave a joyful grin, his tiger tail wagging as she spoke. ”I, uh…I’m sorry for being so forward. In Tarben, the women never got a say in who they would be claimed by. They just had to submit. I was claimed but refused to submit. You could imagine the trouble that I got into, being that I was a granddaughter of Beartooth.I guess I just wanted to feel like I was ‘picked’ by you, and I have a hard time expressing my feelings in romance. Sorry if that caused any confusion… Nevermind that though, can we…uhm…go to your den?””
He quickly shook his head, before nuzzling his face into her cheek to comfort her. He pulled back to look at her. "Don’t apologize for speaking on what you want, Dwyn. You’re not that tyrant's granddaughter. You’re much more. I’m sorry I didn’t make you feel picked, that was never my intention. If you want the truth, I have never found this feeling with anyone before. I just felt like if I came off too strong I’d scare you away. I want you, more than I have let on. And I want you to be my mate." He spoke softly with a smile. He was speaking from his heart, she was making an honest man of him. ”I’d like to officialize our tie in more than just words.” His grin widened at her. "How about our den?" He murmured as she hopped off of the ledge. "I would love to, nothing would make me happier." He spoke, before nodding his head towards his dens location. He walked beside her, his thin tail draped over her rump. It was a short walk, and the whole while he was smiling from ear to ear. As they arrived, he gave a nod inside. The rushing waterfall just outside. "Ladies first." He’d wait for her to go inside before following her in.
Fade in, fade out . . .
Sweat clung to his orange and black striped pelt, a grin on his maw as he got off of her and laid down beside her. "That was fantastic." He murmured breathlessly before nuzzling into her snowy fur. He breathed her in, gods, she was intoxicating. Everything about her was everything he never knew he wanted or needed. He pulled his face back to meet her lilac pools with his emeralds. "I didn’t get the chance to formally ask you, and I’m sure I know the answer but I want to do things right. Dwyn, will you be my mate?"
Walk, "Talk", Think.
