"It's beautiful.." He felt his jaws begin to hurt from smiling so much, he had to look away. Only just as he did did he find himself looking back at her as she spoke again. "Bo would have loved this.." His smile quickly fell as he noted the heaviness in her voice. He tilted his head briefly at the statement, willing to listen if she'd wish to talk about it. Now was a better time than any, no one ever really came up here. The lights could be seen from the ground, but it was just so much more enjoyable to see them from higher up.
Her tears and head shaking made him only more concerned - She was hurting about someone. "I'm sorry. My emotions are getting the best of me. I never.. let that happen. Bo was my son. Back home.. we fought a lot of battles, wars.. you name it. Bo never wanted to fight. He probably would love just to do this. But.. I pushed him to become a soldier like I told him he was destinted to do. He passed, in the final battle I fought. That's how I got my blinded eye and the nasty scar on it. I lost my son and my vision all in one fight."
His happy expression had faded already, quickly he jumped to try and speak. "Please, don't be sorry. I'm so sorry that happened to you, and I'm so sorry for your loss." His acidic yellow hues met her rosy pink before she spoke again. "Thank you for showing me this. This.. it's beautiful." He smiled softly at her, his ears flattening to his head. "I had never seen such lights until I came here, but I had heard of them. The mother of my daughters used to tell me of them, she said that all of the souls of those who passed on lived in the dancing lights of the night. She would say that that's how they watch over their loved ones." He said with a small smile as he looked back to the lights once more.
"I hope that she's right, she deserves such a colorful existence and to see her daughters happy. She passed shortly after she had them, my captor and at the time King had killed her right in front of me to try and remind me that no matter what - I was to serve him. That was the day I slaughtered him and his men. We too were in a war, and he saw me and countless others only as objects to mass produce his warriors." He said with a small sigh, slouching as his eyes turned back to the lights. "These lights come every clear night from what I've seen, I think you were meant to see these lights tonight and to find your way here. I think Bo is up there too, watching you, proud of you, but most of all - I don't think he wants you to blame yourself, Revna. I'm sure he'll visit you every night like this."
He looked back to her, another small smile on his face as he looked to meet her gaze once more. "It's not your fault, Revna." He said softly, trying to soothe her. So she was damaged like he. It seemed that was all war was good for, was damaging those who fight and taking away loved ones. His mind wondered to that of the new King in the lands just beyond the mountain he sat on, why were his brothers so fearful of him? Time would surely tell, but one thing was for sure - The Sargent could see it would be trouble for Hawthorne to house the two. Yet it was not up to him to decide. He gave a soft sigh, smiling once more before looking out across Hawthorne as the lights reflected off of the pines and snow. "Lucaya is taking forever on changing everyone into a Vampire, I think it's more of a mental preparation than anything. But I think I'd much rather be turned by another Sargent under a beautiful sky like this. Would you do the honors for me, Revna?"
