He had to admit, he was hoping for her to feel embarrassed about what she did. To feel pitiful, disgusting. "D a m m i t, Maverick!" Her anger only made him smile, his eyes still narrowed. She was about to out everything. "If you really want to know, his name is Bristow. But don't you dare act like it's my fault two were born dead. If nature had other plans, it had other plans. You also cannot take my choices out on the children. They were my choices and mine alone-and you should not punish the children for it! she spat. I admit, I made a mistake. And I'm sorry. But don't be petty toward the pups. Otherwise I'll be forced to admit that I made a mistake in choosing you!"
He broke out in a laugh at her words. "You think I like you sniping at me?! You think I like you attempting to guilt-trip me?! It's not fair and it's not fun. I don't know what I have to do to get you to understand that. I'm sorry for sleeping around that one time, but honestly, you didn't have such a big problem with it until now! Today! When three of the eight pups I birth are his and not yours. Forgive me, but that seems ridiculously petty of you. We are in this together, or not at all! I'm sick of you treating me like shit! Pull yourself together or leave me." He grinned at her, stepping closer and careful not to step on a child. He lowered his head to her audit, making sure first no one was there to hear him speak.
"Daneliya, I feel you're forgetting who I am dear. I can turn the pack on you and that chum with a single word - Affair." He laughed, pulling himself away from her. Surely it'd be a lie, but it'd add up. Lucaya didn't know about her and Bristow, no one did. His smile quickly fell, only staring at her with a blank emotion. "Do not treat me as if I'm not allowed to be angry, never once was I petty to them and to think I am being petty towards innocent children is ignorant and foolish. I'm being petty towards you, for punishment. For hurting me, breaking my heart. I didn't have a problem because I had hoped this would not happen, because clearly you had more with this man than I thought. Was it just one night?! Or are you just hording mens children to get that notch under your belt of biggest broodmother in Hawthorne?! And please tell me, how did I treat you like shit?! I'm not the one who ran around on you, am I?" He spat.
He shook his head, false but real looking tears were in his eyes. Maverick didn't cry for anything, so seeing that he'd hope would tear at her. "You cheated on me with him. How am I not supposed to be f*cking angry?!" He yelled the last part, not caring anymore. Honestly, he didn't have much to care about anyways. He was already hurt from her actions. "You don't understand my anger, because if you did... you wouldn't be defending him over me." Of course this was all his charade to play into her emotions, seeing him look weak and vulnerable. Truly he wasn't though, he was waiting to see what she'd do. Seeing how well he could manipulate her, as he was a master of doing. "You've hurt me repeatedly, you've cheated though I'm sure you'll find an excuse for that or deny it entirely. You've given me children of another man's and demanded for me to just accept them. You've claimed I've treated you like shit, when I've done nothing but be faithful. You wish for me to father children that are not mine, that only remind me of the fact that you slept around?" He cast his eyes to the entrance of the den, tears streaming down his face. "And now you pick him over me? Denying me of my children should I leave after all of this? How could you?" A quiet sob left his maw. He felt the small pain in his heart, he knew he had feelings in there but why did it hurt so bad? Regardless, his mind was made up. If she was to tell him to leave, well, he'd have to make sure he was the only father alive of her three sires.
"Oh sweetheart, oh sweetheart, you're breaking my heart . . ."
