Willow jumped at the voice. “Hello.” She faced the man. “Have you seen this cave around before? This is my first time.” She shook her head. “U-um, no. I-” She paused; gathered her thoughts. “I don’t travel much out of the pack. So I’m not sure if it’s been here.” She allowed her eyes to travel the man. Her soulmate. She saw red fur, hard scales. Willow’s eyes roamed the caves. “Truth be told, I hadn’t really been paying attention.” She dipped her head. “I’m Willow. What’s your name?” She decided to be civil. Inwardly, she wondered which pack he was from. Sabertooth? Sindri?
She thought about Baba Yaga, the bitch who had taken her brother’s life from him. Supposedly that was her name; she had been killed by Hawthorne’s King Nibris. Lovely deal. Revenge should have been Willow’s, but instead, Nibris had killed her . . . did Willow dare to go after any family?
Holy shit, did Willow like this soulmate tie. The guy was attractive, she had to admit. She couldn’t stop her gaze from traveling every inch of his body. The scales were certainly a nice touch. It was a large distraction from her grief. If he were to catch her, she’d look away in embarrassment. If not, she’d continue to stare.
