Willow’s mind mulled over Redd’s question. “Actually, no. Weiss was the only one I interacted with. I didn’t really have cause to speak with many of the others, but you know. Maybe I should have; I might’ve if I only knew . . .” She trailed off. It was hard to think about, what with Estelle and Balerion’s murder of Aya, and Weiss’ death. Mori was lost to her, a member of Tarben. Her mother was dead, her father most likely too. And she knew Amalthea was a member of Sabertooth . . . but . . . she was the adopted child of a queen and king. Willow had had no word of Shuu. Nor that of Dreamfyre, or of Nyx. These two sisters were packless, so she of course would know nothing of them.
“I watched two of my half-siblings rip the wings off of another wolf,” she said in a twisted, small voice. “And Estelle, she was one of them. I spent a lot of time with her, before she disappeared and joined Nightingale. She was always cruel to us, Weiss particularly. I didn’t think she and I would ever meet on good terms again. But to watch her do that . . . it was horrifying. She was laughing.” She had no idea why she was saying this, Redd didn’t need to hear this.
