Aeolus had taken up duties as a Kappa, surveying and watching the pack borders. It was especially important for him to keep track of those who entered and left as of late, because of the recent war, but also the alliance with Nightingale because of Amalthea, his adopted sister, having been soulmates with the newest king of the pack from the far northwest. His fur, very much alike to his father’s mix of auburns, leather browns, chocolates, and blacks, felt light as he soared around the perimeter, staying below the tree line and making a game of weaving in and out of them. He had to have some fun in this position, after all. Sabertooth was probably one of the least socially involved packs, that is, not many came from other packs, aside from Daneliya and some of her family, and not many left their rankings here in Sabertooth, except for Amalthea and Shuu, who although were adopted by the king and queen, were finding their own new lives, Almathea being the first to do so. Aeolus felt and heard his stomach growl, causing him to stop weaving through the trees for a moment and redirect his path towards a small stream he knew of that carried some nice fish. He could get a small, nice meal there before the creeks would start to freeze up, after all, winter was on its way. He also noticed that this pink line that had been extending from his chest for a while now had moved in this direction as well, but this line meant little to him. He was confused by its presence but had never talked with anyone else about what it might be there for. It did not hurt him, that’s all that mattered. Upon getting closer to the stream, he began to fly lower as he saw a reflection of a fish, or at least, what he thought was a fish, in the water. However, as he flew closer, ready to grasp it with his front paws, his steely eyes with navy flecking widened at the sight of a wolf head and antennae coming off the unusually large trout. The white spotting around his eyes only made it seem like his eyes were wider in surprise. This occurrence was new, and definitely not what he expected today. It did give some excitement to his usual, boring, uneventful, duties as a kappa. ”Woah! What in god’s name?!” He exclaimed, trying to redirect his flight motion instantaneously, definitely having his back paws at least skim the water. If Derevko had moved in such a way that she’d rise closer to the surface, Aeolus would accidentally kick her as he tried to fly upwards away from the stream. He’d turn around once he cleared the stream and land on the opposite bank of which he flew from, looking back at the water, but also at the creature he was about to eat for lunch. His eyes narrowed, looking at Derevko, who may or may not still be in her fish form. Noting the lamprydae features, it clicked. ”D-Derevko?” He spoke, eyes widening again in confusion. ”You scared the living jesus outta me! I almost decided to have ya for lunch!” Aeolus laughed for a moment before continuing to speak. ”Those fish scales a new bloodline or somethin’? Ain’t somethin’ I’ve seen before.” He folded his wings to his sides as he calmed down and relaxed, hoping to not have scared Derevko senseless. Actions &"Words"
