”My apologies, Aeolus, you’re quite the pair, the two of you. Not the first time I’ve confused you.” Aeolus smirked, adding another taunt in. ”Surely Hermes is included in that mix, yeah? Apollo and I technically add up to him.” Another laugh left the brute. ”And they now look unalike to either of our parents. I’m proud to say that I at least still look like their child.” He smirked, looking at Derevko, before he apologized about almost eating her. Her response made him laugh more. ”Don’t worry about the eating. I could have mauled you, if need be.” Before the mainly crimson brute could add his own comment, the lamprydae lass continued to speak. ”My sisters, on the other paw? You’re lucky it was me. Chickadee would have thought you were a griffin and tried to make a deal. Snowflake would thrash like a dying parrot and then play dead, and fail. Meanwhile, I’m fairly certain my mother would have bitten you.” Aeolus smiled at her snort-laugh or whatever it could be called, and he spoke. ”Hey, at least it would be a funny story to tell, regardless of who. Would have also brought some lightheartedness here into Sabertooth given my brother’s recent entanglement with the girl from Tarben.” He sneered to himself, looking to the pink strand connecting both of their chests. Aeolus addressed their soul-tie, and frankly did not know how to take Derevko’s response. ”So. Interesting connection. I’ve heard of these, and I hope this goes much better than it did for my mother.” The winged lad’s eyes softened, looking to stone-cold Derevko. Was she showing even just the slightest hint of feeling? Aeolus said he’d take it slow, of course. But he wondered. ”Did they…break their tie?” The words were maybe a bit blunt and forward, but given it was just the two of them, Aeolus did not care as much about personal appearances. He did not have to do much now to look better than Hermes, the tentative next in line. Aeolus wondered if their parents would change their minds, perhaps give the throne to one of his new siblings upon their age? No, that could not be. Anyday, that supposed prince from Tarben could come here to collect his soul-mate, the same that Hermes had whisked away. In fact, Aeolus was on edge, patrolling more than usual. So it made sense that he just wanted a meal - he was hungry…and stressed. Aeolus walked forward to the creek that Derevko was in, his steely eyes watching, waiting for a fish to swim by. ”I know my parents still have theirs.” He spoke, his words directed to Derevko while his eyes remained on the creek. ”As far as I’m aware, I’m the first to have run into my soulmate out of all of my siblings. Aside from Amalthea, but she was adopted by-“ His words stopped short as he quickly batted a paw into the water, trapping a fish before Aeolus’s jaw wrapped around the head, snapping it clean off, and then dropping the body-less head back into the current. His maw then gently picked up the headless fish, facing Derevko once again, placing it down in front of his feet. ”I figured it was a real fish since it didn’t snarl at me.” He taunted before he began to rip some flesh off and eat it. ”Hope tchya don’t mind. Been more on duty lately with all the youngings here in Sabertooth now.” That was partly the truth. Aeolus could only do his part in preventing fright from spreading through the pack with Hermes dumb rendezvous leading to very likely war. He took another bite, before speaking once more. ”Back to the soulmate thing – lets agree that we won’t break the tie. Don’t need us hating each other here in Sabertooth.” He followed that up with a cheeky smile, hoping it would be well received. Actions and thoughts and "Words."
